About Us

Introduction / Overview

Banwari Shankar College, Simraha, was originally established in 1981 as Banwari Shankar Mahavidyalaya, Simraha, under Lalit Narayan Mithila University (LNMU).  In 1989, the intermediate section received formal affiliation for the 10+2 level (for the 1989-90 batch) from the then Bihar Intermediate Education Council (BICE), which later merged into the present-day Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB), Patna. In 2008, the Government of Bihar under Shri Nitish Kumar ji recognized the college with a performance-based grant, a testament to our commitment to quality education.

The college is named after Banwari Shankar, a revered social activist. His values of compassion, integrity, and service inspire our mission to create responsible future leaders.

We strive to produce socially sensitive, ethically sound students equipped for higher education and careers, advancing quality learning and professional skills while promoting democracy, human rights, sustainability, trust, courage, and respect. Prof. Yogendra Kumar, Principal, says: “We focus on academic excellence, holistic development, and fostering ethical values. Our aim is to create a learning environment that encourages critical thinking, creativity, and social responsibility.”
